In today's society, you can be sued for the color of your hair. Bear in mind, anyone can sue you for anything, but the Good Samaritan Law is designed to provide protection to you with the contingencies noted. To date, there has not been a successful lawsuit against the Good Samaritan Law. Always put a patient's well being first, provide care within your scope of training, and don't take payment for your services and you will be well protected.

The legal implications for a first aid provider are minimal provided you follow the skills and guidelines taught in this course. If you are ever in doubt, rely on common sense and focus on the type of care you would want rendered if you were the patient. If you provide quality patient care and use your best judgment you will greatly limit any potential liability.
